It started with Todd....
The idea for Blackwolf Golf began in 2014, when Todd working for a Calgary company, was asked to participate in an inter-office golf tournament. Of course, he agreed. Only problem, there were only 4 teams entered, which was not enough. Todd reached out to his friends and fellow members of the Calgary golf community, and was able to organize the initial event with 32 teams.
Todd recognized the desire and need for a tournament like this, and the following year he organized a tournament with 132 teams from the Calgary area. In May 2015 the business was incorporated under the name Blackbull Golf Inc. The inspiration for the name came from the statue of a powerful, black bull which Todd saw in the office every day when he came to work. He approached the owner, explained his idea for a local golf tournament named after the bull, and asked to purchase the statue. The owner, a generous man, donated trophy. In the midst of a serious downturn in the Alberta economy, the owner wished him the best of luck and every success. The owner must have been a golfer.
Unfortunately, the name did not last long. Within a couple of weeks, a golf club in central Alberta, Blackbull Golf Club, contacted Todd, and asked him to change the name. And that’s how Blackwolf Golf Inc. came to be.
